We are excited to announce our 2026 Biological Ginger crop (100% organic) is now ready for purchase. Our ginger is grown in a deep compost system, packed full of living microbes, and unlimited fertility. This enhances the nutritional & medicinal values, as well as making sure the right microbes are integrated with the rhizome. Which benefits both the microbiome of the gut, and the microbiome of the soil to help prevent disease, and help the crops flourish. You can see in the picture above, there is a lot of white across the root zone.. this is Mycorhizza fungi, a symbiotic microbe that helps growth, health, and nutrient uptake. This is a great sign of a fully functional biological ecosystem. Chemicals kill these microbes as they are very sensitive to any type of chemical, and unfortunately a lot of biology has been wiped out with conventional farming practises. It is important to make sure the microbes are re-established in your gardens and farms to restore the natural order, and bring your soils back to life.

The ginger rhizome you eat, is actually the seed piece you plant too. The distinction between eating and planting is the quality. Seed ginger needs to be of exceptional quality, to ensure the crop is clean and free from disease in the following season. Our seed Ginger is good for eating too.Store seed in a cool dry place out of sunlight until your ready to plant. Snap seed pieces 2-3 days before planting to heal the cuts. 

Spacing 30cm x 30cm for gardening

10cm x 45cm for cultivation

• best planting times is when the soil is at 26• or when danger of frost has passed and it starts to warm up for spring. In SEQ this is around mid August 
• snap the pieces up so they have 2 eyes minimum per piece
• plant 15-20cm deep & top up with soil if needed 
• keep soil moist but not too wet
• Ginger benefits from daily watering, to cool the leaves down in hot weather
